NYC's master of the re-edit, Danny Krivit, adds his golden touch to two stellar tracks.
Norwegian rock band Titanic were certainly big fishes in a small pond. Constantly being lumped together with names such as Led Zeppelin, Santana and Sly & The Family Stone, was quite an achievement for the five-piece Psychedelic Rock outfit from Oslo. Danny Krivit lends his hand to a subtle re-edit along with another for the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.
'Sultana', gets reduction via a slight restrain of the BPM while a low slunking kick drum keeps the groove together as the guitars drawl along with a hypnotic pulse that could only be produced by a band that played and most certainly experimented with "psychedelics".
Well, 'Rock Steady' by Aretha Franklin is a classic all on its own. Now, if we get Danny Krivit to do a re-edit of it, I think it is self explanatory that this is more or less one the most essential records that almost any DJ from Hip-Hop to House, Trance to Techno will find useful at some point.
Danny shows once again his near encyclopedic like mind for music and his ability to put almost anything into club context that would make even a Buckingham Palace guard’s booty shake.
